The drugs were found after the uniformed gardaí stopped and searched the vehicle.

A 34-YEAR-OLD MAN has been arrested and almost 9kg of cannabis seized after gardaí on routine traffic patrol on Dublin’s Navan Road stopped and searched a 4×4 vehicle yesterday.

It’s estimated the cannabis resin is worth around €50,000.

A smaller amount of cannabis herb, worth around €500, was discovered during a follow up search of a  house at Pimlico, Dublin 8.

The man has been taken for questioning to Finglas Garda Station.
