TWO MEN IN their 40s were arrested today, after Gardaí carried out an operation which saw a quantity of cannabis seized in the Dublin 7 area.
During the operation carried out by the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, a number of individuals were searched and cannabis with an estimated street value of €83,000 was seized.
A Garda statement said the search was carried out at approximately 1pm this afternoon as part of ongoing investigations targeting “serious criminal activity” in the Dublin area.
The two men – aged 40 and 47 – are currently being detained at Bridewell Garda Station.
They are being held under drug trafficking legislation, and can be held for up to seven days.
The statement from Gardaí added that they would update on the case further in due course.
