Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man (30s) dies in single vehicle crash last night

Gardaí said that a man in his 30s died after the car he was travelling in left the road and hit a tree.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses after a man died in a single vehicle crash in Offaly last night.

Gardaí said that a man in his 30s died after the car he was travelling in left the road and hit a tree on the N52 Tullamore to Nenagh Road, at Derrydonnelly, Kilcormac, in Offaly.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore where a post-mortem will be carried out.

A section of the N52 at Derrydonnelly is currently closed in order to facilitate an investigation by garda forensic collision investigators with diversions in place.

Gardaí are looking for anyone with information on the crash to come forward.

They would in particular like to speak to anyone who may have travelled on the N52 close to Kilcormac last night between 10.45pm to 11.30pm.
