Gardaí arrest three men in relation to serious assault in Castlebar

The man injured in the incident, aged in his 20s, remains in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED three men in relation to a serious assault that occurred in Castlebar on Saturday 23 August. 

The man injured in this incident, aged in his 20s, remains in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. 

The men are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at stations in the north-western part of the country. 

Investigations are ongoing and gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them. 

At approximately 2.50am on 23 August, gardaí received a report of a male unconscious after an alleged assault outside a pub on Tucker Street.

The scene was preserved and an examination was carried out.

Any road users or people with camera footage (including dash-cam) in the Tucker Street area between 2:30am and 3:15am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
