Five children arrested in connection with alleged sexual assault of girl in Dublin

All five children have since been released without charge.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an alleged serious sexual assault of a girl by a number of children in Dublin.

Five juveniles were arrested and questioned on Tuesday in connection with the incident.

They have since been released without charge, pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It is understood the alleged assault took place after the victim met with the other juveniles in Dublin city.

The girl has been interviewed by gardaí regarding the incident.

“An Garda Síochána continues to investigate an alleged assault on a female,” a garda spokesperson said.

The investigation is being led by a divisional Protective Services Unit in the city.
