IT’S WELL KNOWN locally for its impressive array of Christmas lights.
The Middleton family in Crosshaven in Cork have been lighting up their home for 18 years to raise funds for charity. Sadly, this year Con Middleton passed away so the festive celebrations were missing their most passionate supporter.
But as Con told The Neil Prendeville Show on Red FM last year, he wanted the tradition to continue long after he had gone – and his wife Mary is keeping up the good work.
It’s still a winter wonderland – and Santy was there for the launch
Cork’s Red FM were there when the lights were turned on, and the place was packed
Mary told Red FM last week that it’s a seriously popular spot for local children:
They love it. Some of the parents were saying they have to bring the children down every single night. It’s great. Con loved that and loved knowing everybody enjoyed it.
It’s the most Christmassy place in Cork
Both indoor and outdoor areas of festive joy
There is a donation box there for people to contribute whatever they want for a good cause – but the real goal is for people to just enjoy the Christmas lights
Your contributions will help us continue
to deliver the stories that are important to you
