CO MEATH IS continuing to be a top choice when it comes to commuter counties. But it’s not just its proximity to Dublin city that makes it a great option. Affordability and larger homes with lots of privacy are just two more reasons why the county is popular with house hunters.
This week, we’ve found four large homes in Co Meath that are all under the €500,000 mark – from a detached six-bed in Navan to a three-bed terrace in Ratoath.
This roomy six-bedder at Commons Lane sits on .7 of a landscaped acre. Just outside the centre of town centre, it’s a great blend of rural and urban life without the hassle of being miles away from everything. Navan is 2.9km away while Dublin is less than an hour’s drive away.
Inside comprises an entrance hall, a living room, a kitchen, separate dining room, a bathroom, a utility room and storage closet on the ground floor, along with three bedrooms, including the master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe. On the first floor, there are three additional bedrooms, including another bedroom with an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, and a storage closet. There’s also a stand alone garage that could be used as a workshop or office.
7 The View at Milltree Park in Ratoath is a mid-terrace family home built in 2005. 100 m² in size, the rooms comprise a living room, guest toilet and and a light-filled open plan kitchen/dining space. Two bedrooms sit upstairs on the first floor with the main and largest with an en suite bathroom. The third bedroom is up another flight of stairs.
This cosy home overlooks a communal green and has a west-facing private garden depending on how social you may be feeling. There’s off-street parking to the front while the back garden has a lovely decked area, approached by the double doors from the kitchen. Ratoath and all of its amenities are just a walk away.
12 The Lawns is a family home that’s 150 m² in size with a sense of community and plenty of privacy in one. This detached home has plenty of space surrounding it, parking to the front and a large back garden. Part of the Athlumney Abbey development, it’s walking distance from local amenities including the Johnstown shopping centre and Navan town centre. For city commuters, the M3 motorway is few minutes away.
From the standalone dining room to the extra hobby/home office, lack of space shouldn’t be an issue. A separate utility room that leads off the kitchen and a living room and a downstairs toilet complete the ground floor. All of the bedrooms reside upstairs, two enjoy en suite bathrooms, while the others share a family bathroom.
