JUST LAST MONTH, Rashel Winn won the Irish Brewers Cup Championship event that was held in Dublin – crowning her as one of the best coffee makers in the country.
Last spring, Rashel was diagnosed with cervical cancer – and her dad Eric, writing last night from the US, says that they got some bad news last week:
Her oncologist words to me last week were straight and sharp, “Eric, it doesn’t look good”.
Eric said that it was that conversation with the doctor that led him to set the page up – and the support has been overwhelming:
Those words prompted me to take this action. After much thought, knowing we do not have savings or resources to help with obvious travel expenses, alternative treatment expenses, etc..to the degree needed.
Rashel is married to an Irish man, and moved to Dublin several years ago from the US – and seems to have many, many friends in the coffee community here.
Instead, there’s going to be a big bucket on the counter and you can pay what you like as a donation to Rashel’s cause. If you want to pay a little more than you usually would, thats also completely fine.
Well done to all those involved.
