Assault victim kidnapped by group of men, taken to town's outskirts for beating

The 28-year-old man was injured during an assault that took place in fields on the outskirts of Coleraine.

A 28-YEAR-OLD man was brought by a group of men, in the early hours of this morning, to fields on the outskirts of Coleraine where he was assaulted.

According to detectives, the victim was taken from an unknown location in the town some time between 1am and 2am.

The group of men were driving an “old-style Vauxhall Astra”.

The 28-year-old managed to get away and later received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives have issued an appeal for information, asking anybody with knowledge of the incident to contact them at Coleraine police station.
