EARLIER THIS WEEK, we told you about Dublin Canvas, an initiative that pairs artists up with traffic light control boxes all over the city and lets them do their thing.

Over the weekend, two rather brilliant traffic boxes popped up by Connolly Station.

Introducing Ted and Dougal.

There to brighten up everyone’s commutes.

The artist responsible for the boxes, John Braine, told DailyEdge.ie that he thought it’d be fun to do something with two boxes instead of one.

My first idea was Batman and Robin, then I was thinking about Adam and Paul. As soon as Ted and Dougal popped into my head, there was no competition. I’m a big fan. And everyone loves them.

Once the idea popped into head, he sought Graham Linehan’s blessing and the Father Ted creator kindly obliged.

Ten months later and it’s safe to say that they are officially the most Instagrammable traffic boxes in Dublin.

Wonderful.
