Rebel graffiti: A feast-your-eyes tour of Cork's street art in 12 photos

The bold and beautiful streets of the real capital.

CORK’S CREATIVITY has coloured the streets around the real capital with a vibrant display of urban visuals.

Here’s a glimpse of the city’s street art that caught our eye.

1. A warm ‘Welcome to Paradise’, from the North Mall Wall is an inviting sight

2. This eye-catching dragon, on Kino Entertainment Ltd, is a central piece to the city

3. Street artist Mr Everybody brings a Banksy aesthetic with this girl and balloons piece

4. Childhood memories of Mario can be found near Fitzgerald Park

5. This photo-realistic rooster looks almost good enough to eat

6. On Kyle Street, a series of colourful portraits commemorate historical Irish figures such as The Big Fellow, Michael Collins

7. On first glance, the intricate detail of Psychonautes’ mural, entitled Heart Art Attack, looks like it’s made from hundreds of mosaic tiles

8. The Grot Bags wall will hold your attention for an hour, or two, as you unpack all of the scenes within the piece

9. This ornate oriental scene, on the corner of Cornmarket Street and Kyle Street, has a timeless feel to the city

10. Painted in shades of blue, these Irish literary legends add their stares to St Paul’s Avenue

11. Mad About Cork’s initiative – celebrating local legends on electrical boxes – adds character

12. And this Heron and Hare diptych perfectly complements two empty buildings
