Man dies in single-vehicle road crash in Cork city

The incident occurred at the Sarsfield roundabout in Wilton at approximately 1:50pm yesterday.

A MAN HAS died after the car he was driving crashed in a single-vehicle incident in Cork city yesterday.

The incident occurred at the Sarsfield roundabout in Wilton at approximately 1:50pm.

The man, aged in his 50s, was brought to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course, gardaí said. 

The scene was preserved for technical examination by gardaí and the road has reopened.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area between 1 and 2pm yesterday to make the footage available to gardaí, urging anyone to contact Togher Garda Station.
