Motorcyclist dies at the scene of crash in Co Limerick

The collision occurred around 4pm.

A MALE MOTORCYCLIST in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision involving a car near Kilmeedy in Co Limerick this afternoon.

Gardaí responded to reports of the collision, which occurred around 4pm. The man’s body was brought to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.

The woman driving the car involved in the collision was assessed at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment.

The R519 at Ballykevin is currently closed to traffic and is being preserved for examination, with diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision to contact them.
