Ten injured in crash between minibus and van

Six teenage passengers in the minibus, one child and a 72-year-old man are amongst those injured.

TEN PEOPLE HAVE been treated in hospital in Sligo after a collision between a van and a minibus at around 4.45pm afternoon.

Three people in the van, including a child, and seven people in the minibus were injured when the crash happened on the Colloney to Ballygawley Road, about nine miles outside Sligo town.

Six teenage passengers were on board the minibus, along with its 72-year-old driver.

Two adults in their 30s were also in the van.

All were taken to Sligo General Hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí in Sligo are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 071 915 7000.
