Man arrested in connection with murder of Daniel Aruebose released without charge

This is the second arrest to take place in the case, with a woman in her 20s also having been released without charge in December.

A MAN IN his 20s who was arrested in connection with the murder of Daniel Aruebose has been released overnight without charge, a garda spokesperson has said.

Gardaí said a file was being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.

The arrest on Tuesday was the second arrest in the case. A woman in her 20′s was arrested on suspicion of Daniel’s murder in December, but was also released without charge.

The boy, who would have turned eight on 12 December 2025, was last seen alive at his home in the Gallery Apartments in Donabate at the age of three.

Concerns for his welfare were raised to gardaí by the child and family agency Tusla on 29 August 2025.

On 17 September, gardaí recovered the human remains of a child on open ground in Donabate and DNA analysis has since confirmed these remains to be those of Daniel.

Following enquiries conducted to date and based on information available, gardaí commenced a homicide investigation.
