‘Tylko’ is currently only available in Poland, Austria and Germany but aims to become more widely available after September.

tylko Tylko Tylko

EVER FIND YOURSELF looking around your home thinking, ‘I wish there was a bit more storage space’?

Well thanks to a new Polish-based tech startup Tylko, you can now take a look at exactly what your personalised shelving units would look like around your home.

The company is currently in the process of demo-ing its app but once fully operational, users will be able to order their own personalised units directly.

The app can currently be downloaded on iOS in Germany, Poland and Austria.

Speaking about the product, Ewa Kus, parametric designer with the company, said, “The distinguishing feature of the way we approach design is that we don’t design a finished product, but a process of creating one, and it’s this process that adds the most value to the final outcome.”

In the process of designing shelving, the user is able to chose their own specifications, and then see exactly how it would appear in their own homes.

Through a series of pinches and movements on screen, users are able to fluidly reshape the furniture they are designing.

According to Curbed, Tylko currently sits at the pricier end of the market. A six-by-three foot shelving unit comes in at €1,400 – around three or four times as much as you would pay at Ikea.

The company will be launching at the London design festival in September of this year, with the hope of bringing its product to a wider audience.
