Political enemies, Biden's autopen and Home Alone 2 feature in Trump's five-hour posting spree

The US president had a busy night on the buttons.

US PRESIDENT DONALD Trump had a whirlwind time on Truth Social in the US overnight, blitzing through more than 160 posts in a short few hours.

The posts from the US president on his site covered a wide array of topics, including outlandish claims about Michelle Obama, his wife Melania and Trump’s own cameo in Home Alone 2 (it is Christmas after all).

Trump reposted plenty of content, including from far-right conspiratorial sources like Alex Jones during his five-hour posting spree.

The post from Infowars founder Jones included a caption claiming “Michelle Obama may have used Biden’s autopen in the final days of his disastrous administration to pardon key individuals”.

This references claims Trump has made in the past about legislation signed by his predecessor.

Biden made use of an autopen – a machine that automates a person’s signature with a pen or pencil – throughout his term as president.

In his early days back in the White House this year, Trump even replaced a portrait a Biden with an image of the former president’s autopen.

In other posts, Trump hit out at rivals like California governor Gavin Newsom as “lower than low”, while he spoke about directing targeted operations against Somalians Minnesota governor Tim Walz’s state following news of controversies there.

One video Trump shared included footage of his brief appearance alongside Macaulay Culkin in the 1992 film Home Alone sequel. It was headed “Make Christmas Great Again”.

Elsewhere, Trump paid tribute to his wife Melania.

The posting spree drew the attention of Democrat congressman Jason Crowe, who Trump has previously accused of “seditious” behaviour as the former paratrooper has publicly discouraged serving members of the military from carrying out the administration’s orders.

In more recent posts today, Trump has shared content lobbying for himself to be given the Nobel Peace Price.

He’s also taken to regular online campaigning by encouraging the “great people” of Tennessee to get out and vote for a local Republican party candidate – Trump posted that the politician “cherishes Christianity and country music”, unlike his Democrat opponent who “hates them both”.
