Appeal made on ninth anniversary of murdered Donegal man

Andrew Burns was killed in 2008.

GARDAÍ IN DONEGAL have issued an appeal for information relating to the death of a man in 2008.

Andrew Burns, then 27, was murdered on 12 February 2008 in Donnyloop, Castlefin, Co. Donegal.

Gardaí believe that a number of people were involved in this murder and to date a number of people have been arrested and questioned both in this country and in Northern Ireland.

An Garda Síochána says it is “grateful for all the witnesses that have come forward and made statements” but believe that there are still people who have information which may assist with the investigation.

Gardaí are today renewing their appeal for anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward to assist with this investigation.

They can contact the incident room at Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 91 67100 or the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
