Taxi driver threatened at knife-point in late-night attack

The thief demanded cash and the driver’s phone – before fleeing the scene.

A MAN IN his 30s has been arrested after a taxi driver was threatened and robbed in Dublin 8 overnight.

The attack happened at Rialto Street at around 11.55pm.

The thief threatened the driver with a knife, demanding cash and his phone – before fleeing the scene.

He was arrested later by gardaí from Kilmainham, and all property was recovered.

“The man is currently detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under the Provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984,” a statement said.
