No timeline for fix to issues slowing operations at Dublin Airport's Terminal 2, says DAA

The need for manual workarounds means that check-in and bag drop at airline desks may take longer than usual.

THERE IS NO timeline for a fix to IT issues plaguing Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2 after an alleged cyber attack impacted operations at airports across Europe.

Spokesman for the airport Graeme McQueen said operations are moving well at the airport today, but the need for manual workarounds means that check in and bag drop at airline desks may take longer than usual.

“Some airlines continue to deploy manual workarounds while work continues to fix the IT issues that have been affecting check-in and boarding systems at several airports in Europe since the weekend,” he said.

Passengers travelling over the next 24 hours should plan to arrive at the airport as normal – two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul flight.

However, if passengers need to check in or drop bags, they have been asked to allow extra time. They should contact their airline directly for the latest updates on their flight, he said.

Terminal 1 is said to be operating as normal.

Over the weekend, several Aer Lingus flights were cancelled as the airline reported a significant impact on its operations.

The issue is unconnected to Saturday’s evacuation of Terminal 2 following a concern about a piece of baggage.
