Exactly. Hundreds of workers fall everyday. Do you have to be an Eircom worker to make the news?

Okay gobsh1tes. Here are some facts. Despite the fact that this site is cautious in the extreme in what it puts up, and it shies away from sticking heads above the parapet-read between the lines.

If the Gardai are involved in a workplace incident, you can be damn sure that there is a serious injury at play, if not worse. Cop the fvck on.

Electrocuted means killed by electricity although getting a shock could ave caused the man to fall from a ladder, hope he is going to be OK .

No it doesn’t. Are you intentionally adding to the idiocy here or is it accidental(no pun intended)?

Ryan, my comment was nothing worse than a bad pun, it was made before any mention of that mans condition. If you’d bothered to read two comments further you’d have seen that.

And while I’m at it, Joe is right, electrocuted does actually mean killed by electricity, seems you are the one adding to the idiocy.

I wish the man a full recovery as I would wish anyone who is injured in an accident. My first cousin was seriously injured in a workplace accident a month ago, his misfortune got nowhere near the news anywhere. Then again the place where he works is not as well known or well unionised as what Eircom is.

Eircom is far from well unionised, ask ‘em.

This incident has received prominence because of where it occurred.

Wish the man all the best in his recovery. Have some respect this mans family could read this keep them to your self or don’t say them at all. I had a brother who took a fall it made the news amd he was never able to work again and it effected his family and that could be the same with this mans family. Are ye that childish?

@the journal: you’d better hire a proofreader to check on your spellings. It jumped out of the page straight away. I believe you meant “Health” and not “Heath”. If I misspell is ok, I don’t write for a journal.Apart from that, I truly hope the man is ok, because I can sympathise. Using proper safety gear is literally life saving in a job like theirs.
