Biography

He was elected as a Dublin city councillor in 2004 before winning a seat in the 2011 general election. He is Minister of State at the Department of Health, with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy and also Minister of State with responsibility for New Communities, Culture and Equality.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I work hard locally and nationally, delivering real solutions and progressive changes. I want to continue to help create a more equal Ireland.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

My top priority is education and continuing to tackle educational disadvantage while ensuring all pupils have an excellent school experience.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

In my first 100 days I hope to pursue the €20 million capital investment proposal for a new A&E department at Beaumont Hospital.
