Biography

The current Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, he was first elected to the Dáil in 2007 and retained his seat in 2011. A doctor by profession, he is the former Minister for Health and is currently the deputy leader of Fine Gael. Prior to his election he worked as a GP in the north county Dublin area for 25 years.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I have always sought to serve the best interests of my constituency and of my country. As a Minister I\'ve had the privilege of implementing a range of positive reforms.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

To create more jobs that in turn create a virtuous circle creating more resources to invest in services and infrastructure such as the Metro.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

From the moment the new government is in place, we begin implementing the new Programme for Government.
