Biography

A former member of Sligo Borough Council, he is the son of prominent Sinn Féin politician Seán MacManus. He is a graduate of engineering from IT Sligo and is engaged as an activist in his local area and is a member of the Sligo 1916 Committee.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I have a lifetime commitment to working for the people of my community, inspired as I always am by the ideals of the 1916 proclamation.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

Ensuring a decent quality of life for my constituents. In the north-west, this means creating real jobs and the upgrading of Sligo University Hospital.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

If elected, I\'d like to see an immediate focus on implementing a real and meaningful suicide-prevention strategy.
