Biography

Co-opted first onto Kildare County Council as an Independent in 1998, he stepped down in 2004. He was elected again in 2009 this time for Fine Gael and was elected to the Dáil in 2011. He is a farmer by profession and a member of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I am hardworking, straight talking, and I've delivered. I've spent the last five years knocking on doors, listening to my constituents' concerns.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

Continued creation of jobs and, in particular, ensuring employment for young people.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

Improve the allocation of newly recruited gardaí from Templemore to Kildare.
