Biography

Buckley was elected to the Dáil in 2016. He was first elected to Cork County Council in 2014 and Midleton Town Counil in 2009. He is the public relations officer for non-profit suicide prevention group the Let's Get Together Foundation.

Why should someone vote for you?

I am passionate about my work and I’m not into populism. I want to put down a marker and make Ireland the best country in the world and an even better one for my children and my grandchildren.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

I believe mental health affects everything. I want to try and be the strongest local voice in my community, one which has been touched by tragedy in recent years.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

I have a mental health bill that I want to get passed.
