Barry Cowen

Constituency: Laois Offaly

Barry Cowen was elected as a councillor for Tullamore in 1999. He was successfully elected again in 2004 and 2009. He has been chosen by Fianna Fáil to represent Laois Offaly in the forthcoming election. Barry will attempt to continue the family tradition, as brother Brian is the current outgoing Taoiseach, and their father Bernard was first elected to the Dail in 1969.

    Another dynastical wannabe. Just because the brother was taoiseach and the father was a politician, we should vote for you? Why exactly?

    No votes from me because:
    1. You’re FF
    2. You come from a political family. What this country needs is fresh blood, not people who have had their nose in the trough for generations.
    3. I know nothing about you, but I heard you on Morning Ireland a few weeks ago, and in my opinion, you are just another FF gombeen man.
