Finally! Facebook now lets you save articles to read later

The new feature will allow users to scroll their News Feeds without interruption.

FACEBOOK HAVE LAUNCHED a new read-back function that allows users to store links from their News Feeds.

The new app, called Save, will be rolled out to iOS, Android and desktop users over the coming days.

The feature gives users a way to stockpile links to be accessed later, allowing them to scroll their News Feeds without interruption.

Users will be able to use a ‘save’ button, located to the bottom right of stories in the News Feed. Saved items can be viewed on the desktop versions homepage’s left sidebar list of bookmarks and on the More apps list on mobile.

The news will be welcome to Facebook’s more than one billion users whose News Feeds have previously presented a torrent of distractions.

At this time, Facebook have stated that analytics that could assist with content and promotions strategies will not be available to external websites and page admins.

The items that are saved will not be cached, meaning web connectivity is required to view items that have been saved.

A version of Save was tested in 2012 but was ultimately delayed until this year.

@Gaffer: you can’t say for sure what caused this collision. Say RIP and move on…

@Gaffer: that section of road is confusiing with over taking sections and a turning point in the road, so speed might not be a factor

We don’t know what caused the accident. And for right now what is important is that the lives of the loved ones of those involved are sadly changed forever. May the young man rest in peace.

May he rest in peace and hopefully his family will be able to find peace as well. This is really tragic and it happens far far too often. I hope the causes of the accident are released as it may give others an understanding of the dangers and consequences of driving. If that ‘understanding’ saves lives then there will be a lot more ‘Og’s’ thanking Brendan.
