DUBLIN

Bloom In The Park: You may think that Bloom is reserved for those of us with green fingers, but there’s loads to do for families throughout the weekend. From demonstrations on how to make your own fairy garden to learning all about farming, this is a day well spent.

Cork Harbour Festival: Cork’s maritime history gets a chance to shine this weekend as the Harbour Festival takes over 15 harbours across the county. Check out events like seaweed foraging, open days at some of the city’s historic maritime forts and an opportunity to sail on the open sea.

Listowel Writers Week: Listowel is a hub for the creatively minded this week, and its children’s programme is full of amazing workshops that range from Lego robotics to a creative writing class with Alex Barclay. Can adults go too?!

LEITRIM

Carrick Carnival: Good old-fashioned family fun is the name of the game at the annual Carrick Carnival, which takes place over the next week. From pig racing to street bowling to Carrick’s own version of Strictly Come Dancing, this is a gas celebration that is worth travelling for.

LOUTH

Vantastival: This brilliant family-friendly camper van festival is returning this weekend to Louth, with music from The Stunning, Le Galaxie and Loah. The festival has a dedicated kids’ area and is always a fantastic weekend.

WEXFORD

Enniscorthy Strawberry Fair: Enniscorthy will be celebrating the strawberry this weekend with a rhythm and blues festival. The town centre will be the central hub to lots of live music and food – it’s super family friendly, and there’ll be lots to keep the kids amused.
