Woman (70s) dies following crash in Co Limerick

The two-vehicle road traffic collision occurred on on the N21 at Templeglantine West yesterday.

A WOMAN IN her 70s has died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving cars, on the N21 at Templeglantine West, Co. Limerick yesterday.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the crash, which occurred at approximately 11:50am.

The female driver of one of the cars (aged in her 70’s) was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.

A female passenger of the second vehicle (aged in her 70’s) was conveyed to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

A forensic collision investigation will be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators (FCI).

The road is currently open.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area between 11.00am and 12:00noon on Saturday 18th October 2025 to contact them.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from that section of road during the relevant period are also asked to make it available to investigating officers.
