Third arrest over death of man at Finglas house party

The body of 29-year-old Vincent Maher was found at his apartment on Wellmount Road on Saturday morning.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE violent death of 29-year-old Vincent Maher at a house party in Finglas have made a third arrest in connection with the case.

The victim’s body was found at his apartment on Wellmount Road in the north Dublin suburb on Saturday morning.

A post mortem showed he had died violently, and gardaí are investigating whether he was attacked at the address in the course of the party.

Two men in their 20s have already been arrested and questioned in connection with the case — both were released without charge on Sunday evening.

A third man, aged in his early 20s, was picked up in the Dublin area last night and is being held for questioning at Finglas Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Gardaí have appealed for information from anyone who may have been at the party or from taxi drivers who may have collected or dropped off passengers in the area.
