ROAD USERS HAVE been urged to take care when driving as a warning for fog for 16 counties has been issued by Met Éireann.
Counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Galway, Leitrim, and Roscommon will all be under a Status Yellow fog warning from 9pm this evening.
The warning will remain in place until 10am tomorrow.
The weather forecaster said that areas of dense fog or freezing fog were possible, “leading to impaired visibility and hazardous travelling conditions”.
Overnight, it is to be largely dry with some isolated showers, mainly in eastern counties, with lowest temperatures of -1 to 3 degrees.
The heavy fog is forecast to gradually clear from most places tomorrow morning, with bright or sunny spells to follow and occasional showers.
