Fox News says sorry for claiming non-Muslims can’t go to Birmingham

Jeanine Pirro says Fox “could find no credible source” for the claim.

FOX NEWS HAS made an on-air apology for what it termed a “serious factual error” in claiming that Birmingham was a “totally Muslim city” and is a “no-go zone” for non-Muslims.

The unchallenged claim made the hashtag #FoxNewsFacts trend on Twitter and led to contributor Steve Emerson being labelled “a complete idiot” by UK Prime Minster David Cameron.

In an on-air climbdown, Fox presenter Jeanine Pirro said that Emerson had made a ”serious factual error” in his claim.

Pirro then quoted some actual facts from the UK census which show that 22% of people in Birmingham identify as Muslim.

She then added that Fox News “could find no credible source” about the “no-go zone” claim in relation to Birmingham.

Pirro then apologised to viewers as well as Birmingham residents.

Fair and balanced.
