A GALWAY SYNDICATE plans to travel the world after scooping an €8.5 million jackpot.
The small syndicate claimed its prize today, saying they will try to get their lives back to normal before they all embark on a trip around the world.
The syndicate, which is remaining anonymous, says that the 10 days since the win have been a blur.
“It’s only been ten days since we hit the jackpot but it feels like a lifetime ago.
“€8.5 million is an incredible amount of money for us to win and in truth, it probably still hasn’t sunk in yet. We’re very sensible. We’ve always wanted to travel as a group so we will make a plan to do in style now. Instead of scrimping and saving for budget accommodation, we’ll be travelling first class all the way, that’s for sure.”
The group says it has only shared the news with immediate family.
The quick pick ticket was sold in the Corrib Oil Service Station in The Hill, Loughrea and marked Galway’s 93rd jackpot win since 1988.
The National Lottery is also reminding players to check their EuroMillions tickets to see if they are the winners of a €1 million EuroMillions EuroMillionaire Raffle prize from 23 February with just two days left to claim their prize.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Eason Store in the Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork City on the day of the draw. The winning raffle code of the €1 million raffle prize was I-DKB-06633.
