A MAN IS being treated in hospital after a gang of masked men armed with iron bars attacked him in his home in Larne, Co Antrim, in the early hours this morning.

Detectives in Larne are investigating the aggravated burglary at a house in Sallagh Park, near Moyle Hospital in the town.

The man, aged in his 20s, is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

His assailants left the house through the front door. The police are unsure at this stage whether the group of men left the area on foot or in a vehicle.
