Men arrested for burglary after gardaí stop stolen car pulling out of driveway

The two men were remanded in custody to appear on 31 August before Cloverhill District Court.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested for burglary after gardaí spotted a car leaving a house in Dublin early this morning.

At around 3am this morning, Gardaí from the Dublin region traffic corps were patrolling the New Cabra Road, Dublin 7 when they observed a car driving out of the driveway of a home.

Gardaí followed and stopped the car to speak with the driver and passenger. They were then advised that a burglary had occurred on New Cabra Road and a car was stolen during the course of the burglary.

Both men in their early 20s were arrested at the scene and were taken to Store Street Garda station where they was detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

Both men were charged this afternoon in relation to the incident and appeared before District Court Number 2, Criminal Courts of Justice, Dublin.

The two men were remanded in custody to appear on 31 August before Cloverhill District Court.
