Coast guard helicopter and garda dog teams join search for missing 76-year-old man

The search is focusing on a remote area of the Wicklow Mountains near Kilbride.

THE IRISH COAST Guard’s Dublin-based helicopter was dispatched to assist in the search for a 76-year-old man missing from Blackrock last night.

George Manson was last seen in the Stillorgan area on Sunday evening.

The Rescue 116 helicopter was sent to assist gardaí in the search of a remote area of Co Wicklow, near Kilbride, at around 8.30pm after his car was located.

Three garda dog team, the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team, and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue were also involved in last night’s search.

The helicopter returned to its base at Dublin Airport shortly after 10pm. The search is expected to continue today.

Gardaí yesterday renewed their appeal for help finding George. He’s described as being 5′ 6″ in height, of a slim build with grey hair and a moustache.
