Man arrested over Glasnevin rush hour shooting

Two people were injured in the attack during busy morning traffic in the Dublin suburb on Monday morning.

A 31-YEAR-OLD MAN has been arrested this evening in connection with Monday’s shooting incident in the Glasnevin area of Dublin.

Two men were injured in the attacks, which happened at around 8.15 am.

A 52-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to the stomach on Glasnevin Avenue. A short time later a man in his 30s was discovered in Hillcrest Park with gunshot wounds to the leg.

The men were treated at the Mater and Beaumont hospitals, respectively. A shotgun was also found near the scene.

The man arrested this evening is being held for questioning under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Ballymun Garda Station.
