Summer sunsets are on their way © RollingNews.ie

Are you noticing a grand stretch in the evenings?

Are you feeling a difference?

WE’RE NEARING THE end of March and after what felt like a very long winter, the evenings are finally getting brighter.

The sun is due to set in Ireland today at 6:37pm – more than two hours later than 21 December, which was the shortest day of 2025.

And the clocks go forward next week, meaning the days are only getting longer from here. It might only be the beginning of the brighter season, but we’ll take what we can get.

For now, we’re in for what Met Éireann has described as a “pleasant” day, before more unsettled weather creeps back in next week.

So, with that we’re asking: Are you noticing a grand stretch in the evenings?

Poll Results:

Yes, I’ve noticed it (5130)
Not yet, I'd call it more of a little stretch (412)
No, it still feels like winter (156)
