POLICE SCOTLAND HAVE launched an investigation after reports of gunshots being fired outside a well-known music venue in Glasgow last night.

The Wolfe Tones were playing the Barrowlands at the time of the incident, at around 9.50pm, according to the force.

It’s believed the shots were fired on Gallowgate at the junction with Gibson Street – right beside the venue.

There are no reports of anyone being injured.

“Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding last night’s events,” Detective Inspector Gillian Patrick said.

“Officers, including specialised search and forensic teams remain in the area to speak to local residents and businesses.

“There was a concert in the Barrowlands last night, and the Gallowgate was busy with revellers enjoying a Saturday night out.

“It is possible that other members of the public may have heard something just before 10pm. If you have any information that can assist, I ask that you contact officers at London Road.”
