A YOUNG MAN has been taken to hospital for treatment to serious head injuries, after he was discovered in a field near Milford in Armagh yesterday evening.
Police understand he was the victim of an assault that happened early yesterday morning, and that the 20-year-old lay untreated for hours until the attack was reported.
The victim sustained “a number of serious head and facial injuries” when he was attacked in the field, off the Monaghan Road, the PSNI said.
He was discovered at around 5pm, and immediately taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 25 year old man was arrested on Sunday evening,” Inspector Edel Stinton said.
He remains in custody this morning assisting police with our enquiries.
Anyone with information on the crime is being asked to contact the PSNI.
