It's official --- Hell has frozen over...

Hell, Michigan that is.

TEMPERATURES ON a par with those on Mars have been recorded across much of the US and Canada in recent days as the ‘polar vortex’ takes grip across the region.

Much to the delight of headline writers across the US (and here at TheJournal.ie) the tiny community of Hell, Michigan is amongst the areas bearing the brunt of the weather — this morning, the mercury was registering at -12 degrees.

Home to around 260 people, Hell was founded in 1841 and lies around 24km to the north of the city of Ann Arbour.

In light of the circumstances, we’re wondering if it may finally be time for The Smiths to consider getting back together?
