THIS PROPERTY IN Cork looks like something out of a Disney film.
It sits in front of sweeping landscaped gardens, and was built in a simplified French-chateau style more than 150 years ago.
The property’s grounds extend to 30 acres and the estate has been home to a number of notable former residents.
Located on part of the Lissenlan Estate is the Henry Ford Ancestral Site – dedicated to the American industrialist credited with revolutionising car manufacturing. The connection is that Ford’s grandfather John Ford used to farm on the estate – and his father was born in the local area before emigrating to the United States.
Vintage Ford vehicles are on display around its grounds which are occasionally used as a wedding venue.
Its gardens are said to “take advantage of the natural features of the West Cork landscape”. They also feature sections of the River Argideen which have good opportunities for salmon and sea trout fishing.
It is on the market for €2,950,000.
Here is what roughly €2,950,000 would get you around the rest of the country…

The property’s garden comes with a ‘feature apple tree’, which is said to be as old as the house. Permission is in place for the house to be extended by around 500 sq. ft. to the side and the rear.
