GARDAÍ IN COOLOCK are investigating an incident of alleged hijacking and kidnapping of a woman this morning in north Dublin.
The woman in question, who is 36 years old, alleges that her car was stopped at traffic lights on the Clonshaugh Road near Dublin Airport at about 5am when an unknown man forced his way into her vehicle.
She claims that the man punched her a number of times before forcing her into the back seat and driving away.
Gardaí from Swords subsequently attended the scene after the car crashed at a roundabout on the R132 near Lissenhall, about seven miles from the initial hijacking, at 5.30am.
The woman claims that the man who stole her car had fled the scene. The woman was in the back seat of the car when gardaí arrived.
