AS A FAMILY were sitting in watching television on Wednesday evening, 3 July, a recovery truck ploughed straight into the sitting room in Ennistymon, Co Clare.
The incident happened just after 8pm on the Lisdoonvarna Road. The recovery truck was returning from the scene of an accident with a car on the back when one of the tyres blew. It lost control, crossed the road and hit the home.
The driver of the truck and the two people inside the house all managed to escape injury.
Gardaí told TheJournal.ie that only “material damage” was caused to the truck and the house.
