FINDING A HOME that matches your budget without compromising your list of must-haves can be tricky, but we’re here to make that task easier.
Each week we round up homes on the market for a certain price point to see how far your budget will get you. This week, we’re looking at properties around the country that are on the market for €500,000.
From a four-bed home in Wexford to a two-bed apartment in Dublin, here are four properties around the country that match this price point.
Sitting on a site of 0.4 acres is Tuites Lane, a four bedroom property in the seaside village of Blackrock, Co Louth. A spacious hallway welcomes visitors into the property, which features several large areas for entertaining throughout, including a family room, lounge and sun room. The open-plan kitchen and dining room boasts an attractive bay window and window seat, flooding the room with natural light.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms – two of which have an en-suite bathroom. A staircase in the third bedroom leads to the second floor, where there are two attic rooms which could be used as another relaxation area or office space.
Spanning just over 1,000 sq ft is 51 Killiney Hill Park, a two bedroom apartment located in south Co Dublin. With views of Dublin Bay and Dublin City, this property is ideal for those who want to enjoy the benefits of city life without living in the centre of its hustle and bustle. The spacious accommodation is situated beside The Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel and features communal gardens.
Space is no issue at Number 51, with a large living and dining area extending on to a balcony with views of the hotel’s grounds. The kitchen, with fitted units and all appliances, enjoys sea views. There are two double bedrooms – one with an en-suite bathroom – and a family bathroom. With Glenageary and Dalkey DART stations within walking distance, the city centre can be accessed with ease. Killiney, Dalkey and Sandycove villages are also nearby, meaning shops, bars and restaurants are never far away.
Part of new development Finlay Park, Naas, is The Lock, a four-bedroom detached home. Finlay Park comprises mainly of traditional three and four bedroom semi detached and four bedroom detached family homes with red brick facades, front and rear gardens and cobble lock off-street parking for two cars.
Spanning an impressive 1,600 sq ft, The Lock has a spacious living room to the front of the property and an open-plan dining room and kitchen to the back. Double doors lead from the kitchen to the back garden, with a storage/utility room and bathroom also on the ground floor. The A-rated property has solar panels for heating water, as well as high levels of insulation incorporated in the floors, walls, roof and internal pipework. Naas town centre is a short walk away, while large landscaped areas and a canal walkway border part of the development.
Located on two acres of private grounds, Chia Lodge is certainly spacious, with four bedrooms and five bathrooms spread over nearly 4,500 sq ft. The entire ground floor is open plan, with a central staircase grabbing attention from the moment you walk in. A dining area, dining room and breakfast bar seats five in the kitchen.
Upstairs, two of the four bedrooms have access to the balcony that surrounds the front of the property, while each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Most impressive is the master’s en-suite bathroom, with tiled steps leading to a bath. Expansive lawns surround the house, with an elevated decking area to the rear. Built in 2006, Chia Lodge is 18km from New Ross town and 3km from the fishing village of Arthurstown.
