IN THE CURRENT high-demand property market, it’s tough to get a sense of what exactly your money is worth. We’re here to make things simpler.
Each week, we handpick a number of homes within a similar budget in one location, to give you a snapshot of the property landscape at a set price point.
This week, we’re looking at properties around Wexford with an asking price of exactly €225,000 – from a family home in Killinick to a two-bed apartment in Gorey.
Located on a corner plot in a small development of just six houses, 6 Fern Hill Close is a quaint three-bed family home. Built in 2005, the ground floor accommodation comprises a kitchen/diner, a utility room, a lounge with an open fireplace, a large bathroom and a double bedroom.
On the first floor, there are two spacious double bedrooms and a bathroom. There’s a cobblelock driveway to the front and a lawn to the rear, while a number of fields surround the development. Rosslare is less than a 10-minute drive away.
Conveniently positioned in the heart of Gorey town, 16 Avenue Grove is a well-appointed two-bed apartment. The accommodation spans 947 sq ft and comes to the market in walk-in condition. The living, kitchen and dining area is light filled thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows which overlook the town and the countryside beyond, while two bedrooms, an en suite bathroom and family bathroom complete the accommodation.
A wealth of amenities are on the property’s doorstep, including supermarkets, schools, bars and restaurants. If you’d like to head to the coast instead, the drive to Courtown Beach should take about 10 minutes.
Also located in Gorey town is 46 Oakwood. A two-bed property, No 46 is one of 51 houses in the quiet development, which is an easy 10-minute stroll from the town centre. Again, the drive to Courtown Beach stands at about 10 minutes.
The accommodation comprises a kitchen and diner, a living room, two double bedrooms, one en suite bathroom, a guest bathroom on the ground floor and the main bathroom on the first floor. To the rear, there’s a beautiful garden with mature shrubbery and a patio area.
Built in 2006, 14 Cois Carraige is an ideal four-bed family home. It’s a five-minute drive from Wexford town, with no shortage of schools and sports clubs in and around here. No 14 comes to the market in great condition, although it could benefit from updates in some areas.
There’s a large driveway to the front with two parking spaces, while the rear garden is south-west facing and benefits from a corner position, with a large decking area and lawn here. The house looks out onto a small green area, allowing younger members of the family to play outdoors while still being close to home.
