GETTING TO GRIPS with a fast-changing property market tricky, but we’re here to make things simpler.
Each week, we’ll handpick four homes within a similar budget, to give you a snapshot of the property landscape at a particular price point.
This week, we’re looking at properties in Co Wexford with an asking price of exactly €250,000 – from an apartment in Gorey to a four-bed in Rosslare Habour.
Ideally located in the village of Rosslare Harbour, 17 Thorndale is a four-bed detached home. The property offers ample accommodation for a family, with a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area that’s flooded with natural light. There’s a separate sitting room too, while all four bedrooms are located on the first floor.
No 17 features a spacious driveway and garden to the front, while the back garden boasts decking, a paved patio area, a manicured lawn and a workshop. There are multiple amenities on the property’s doorstep, while the local primary school is a 15-minute walk away. Rosslare Europort is a 20-minute walk away.
Sitting on an elevated site of 0.75 acres, River Bridge is a three-bed detached bungalow. The property was constructed in 2002 and spans 1,513 sq ft, with nature lawns to the front and rear. There’s solid oak flooring in the kitchen, hallway and living area, while the sunny conservatory is finished with tiled floors.
Each bedroom features fitted wardrobes, while an integrated garage to the side could be used as a fourth bedroom, home office or gym. Mature trees and heading around the property’s parameters provide a sense of privacy. Location-wise, Gorey town is a 15-minute drive away, while the nearby town of Ballycanew offers amenities that are closer to home, including a primary school.
Spanning 1,869 sq ft, Dair Aonair is a four-bed bungalow located just a five-minute drive from Enniscorthy. The property benefits from a carefully manicured front garden with mature hedging and shrubbery, as well as a south-facing view.
Inside, accommodation comprises a hallway, living room, dining room and kitchen. There are four bedrooms and a family bathroom, as well as a separate breakfast room and sun room. The sun room overlooks the beautiful countryside views, which can be enjoyed from the balcony on warm summer evenings.
Moving back to Gorey, this time we’re looking at a two-bed apartment in the centre of the town. 18 Avenue Grove spans 1,000 sq ft and comes to the market in walk-in condition. The living, kitchen and dining area is light filled thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows which overlook the town and the countryside beyond, while two bedrooms, an en suite bathroom and family bathroom complete the accommodation.
A wealth of amenities are on the property’s doorstep, including supermarkets, schools, bars and restaurants. If you’d like to head to the coast instead, the drive to Courtown Beach should take about 10 minutes.
