Dream car of the week: Jaguar F-Type V6 Convertible

THE JAGUAR F-TYPE V6 Convertible is one of the most elegant modern sports cars on sale today.
Outside:
The F-Type perfectly blends style with performance and clearly shows linage to the iconic E-Type. Its shape is instantly recognisable. Its feline-like headlights and long bonnet encompass Jaguar’s signature design language, while the rear rounds things off in a neat and tidy package and features a deployable rear spoiler and twin exhausts.
This particular car sits atop 19-inch propeller alloys with Jaguar High Performance braking system and red brake calipers. The exterior is finished in a classy Stratus Grey metallic paint and the electrically folding fabric roof is finished in black.
Inside:
The cabin is finished in a mixture of jet and ivory coloured premium leather and the headlining is also finished in ivory. The centre console, which features trip computer with message centre and eight-inch touchscreen display, is finished in dark hex aluminium with ‘S’ branding.
This car comes with six-way adjustable performance seats and a multi-function leather steering wheel with Ignis gearshift paddles. It also features climate control, air pollen filters, Bluetooth connectivity and analogue dials with central TFT display.
Safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), roll over protection system, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and a tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Under the hood:
This car is powered by a 3.0-litre supercharged engine that delivers a respectable 380hp at 6,500rpm and peak torque of 460Nm arriving at 3,500rpm and staying until 5,000rpm. An eight-speed ‘Quickshift’ transmission drives power to the rear wheels.
The Jaguar F-Type Convertible has a top speed of 275km/h and goes 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds. It has a combined fuel economy figure of 8.6 litres/100km and falls into tax band F, which means it is €1,200 to tax a year.
