Woman questioned over Limerick murder released by gardaí

65-year-old Paddy Redmond was stabbed to death in the early hours of 10 November at an apartment on Dock Road.

A WOMAN ARRESTED yesterday in Limerick in connection with the murder of a 65-year-old man last month has been released without charge.

Paddy Redmond was stabbed to death in the early hours of 10 November at an apartment on Dock Road.

Officers were called to the scene at about 2am, and he was rushed to University Hospital Limerick where he later died from his injuries.

Gardaí based at Henry Street in the city arrested the woman yesterday, and she was held for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

It was confirmed this evening that she had been released without charge, with a file to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
